Introduction
Immigration paperwork is detailed. Missing one document — or filing the wrong version of a form — can delay your case by months. The right resources make the difference between a smooth application and a frustrating one.
MY-VIET has created this resource center to give you the tools you need: document checklists, glossary terms, fee information, and guides for the most common immigration situations. Everything here is free and written in plain language.

Document Checklists
Family Immigration Checklist: What to gather for a family petition and green card application.
Green Card (AOS) Checklist: Every document you need for Form I-485 Adjustment of Status.
Citizenship Checklist: Documents needed for Form N-400 naturalization application.
K-1 Visa Checklist: Everything required to petition for a fiancé(e) visa.
Student Visa Checklist: F-1 visa documents from I-20 to interview day.
Immigration Glossary
Immigration has its own language. Our glossary explains over 50 key immigration terms in plain English. Here are a few examples:
Beneficiary: The person who benefits from the immigration petition — usually the family member being sponsored.
Petitioner: The U.S. citizen or permanent resident who files the immigration petition.
Priority Date: The date a visa petition was filed. It determines your place in line for preference category visas.
Visa Bulletin: A monthly publication from the U.S. Department of State showing which priority dates are currently being processed.
SEVIS: Student and Exchange Visitor Information System — the database that tracks international students.
RFE: Request for Evidence — a notice from USCIS asking for more information to support your case.
